We’re also counting down the Top 20 British rock’n’roll movies, and taking a trip into 1950s Soho, the seedy birthplace of so many iconic rock’n’roll acts. We also have features on The Beatles’ early days in Hamburg, Germany, and reflect on the genius that was recording pioneer Joe Meek.
As you’ll see in these pages, British rock’n’roll didn’t start with The Beatles, and it wasn’t just American-accented acts that helped inform the sound of John, Paul, George and Ringo.
